I have a major rant. Maybe you've hear about the horrific car accident that occurred not too long ago on the Taconic State Parkway in NY State. A total of 8 people died including the mother, her daughter, three nieces and the gentlemen in an SUV; a father, son and a family friend. The papers and news covered it 24/7. All sympathy for the mom and the children and why not, unfortunately the three men were an afterthought. To make a long story short tests came back and she was found to be high as a kite and drunk, so drunk in fact that she measured 1 1/2 times over the legal NY state limit. She had so much alcohol in her system that the M.E. found the equivelant of 10 undigested drinks in her stomach. State police found a 1 litre bottle of vodka in the burnt wreckage that was her minivan. She leaves a public campground high and drunk and no one has the courage to take the woman's keys??? Have they no conscience? I truly hope there is a hell for if there is she will be resting there for all eternity. My mind has a hard time grasping this, I have an uncle who is a functioning alcoholic and every time I see him I am furious inside, needless to say I don't see him very often, at least he doesn't drive while drunk. I am no angel believe me, I have done things that I have regretted and realize now I never should have done, and am lucky to be alive. Those were my more carefree ( or perhaps careless) days. For all who think that so called "recreational" drugs and a couple of drink can't hurt anyone please think again. Such a senseless tragedy that certainly could have been avoided. For if those people who saw her off had taken the keys that family would not have had to bury their three beautiful daughters; another family would not have to bury a father and son, and yet another a father. I'm angry that this happened and I know that this should be a wake-up call for everyone but sadly this will not be the last time something like this will happen. Sorry for the long post here but I truly had to vent on this.

I can understand your frustration peach. We are a very car reliant city in Perth (sprawling & spread out with a very average public transport system) and this kind of thing happens all the time. People don't realise when they get behind the wheel like that, the tragic consequences that their actions can bring - we all think it won't happen to us. And unfortunately, the more wasted they are, the less likely they are to see that they shouldn't drive - and others are often too frightened to speak up and not let them get behind the wheel.
Fortunately, wichi won't be letting any of us drive after her party - and none of us will want to leave anyway - we'll be too busy fighting over the "special guest"!!!!

I just watched an update on this on MSNBC. She had the equivalent of many shots of vodka and was high on pot. Her family denies any usage, of course.

I heard about that as well. Whatever would possess a Mother to drive in that condition? What a real tragedy for all the families.
I have two sons who are 23 and 20 years old. We have had many conversations about being out and drinking. I always knew I would not be able to stop them from partying, but they have promised me and have since done so; stayed at the party overnight even if it meant sleeping on the floor. They also know to call home if anything happens and we will arrange to get them home, or call a cab and leave the car locked up tight. Knock on wood (and through the grace of God) we have had no problems. I sleep easier trusting I did all I could do, they are men now and must take responsibility for themselves. Whenever we hear of a drunk driving accident, I try to (not naggingly) reiterate my concerns about their behaviors. We have some interesting conversations and I do my best not to be judgemental.

I have NO tolerance or sympathy for drunk drivers. To me there is NO excuse for getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle after your've been drinking. I believe that there shouldn't be ANY leeway for even first time offenders. With all the data and the examples of what can happen when you drive under the influence it just makes no sense why people still do it. To me people that drive while drunk are selfish, evil and need to be punished harshly. I think the only people I dislike as much are child molesters and corporate fat cat thieves.
But that may just be me.
I have a rave...I know schocking right? GoGurt! I love that stuff, and Fiber One toaster pastries....taste better than Pop Tarts and are better for you (higher fiber and less calories) Convenient and no guilt ridden...I like it!

AN ALMIGHTY RANT
So I wanted to change my atavar
So I asked greeneyestoo who kindly instructed me .
What do i get.I lose my lovely tousled hair Roofie darling and get little red cross . Try again and again still little red cross.and again and again
.Now ,I use a computer in work ,alright it is NHS programmed so I can't get lost

No I don't !!!!I want to throw it against the wall and jump up and down on its remains.
I want to lie on the floor and drum my fists and heels and scream.
I want to find Bill Gates and smash it over his head.
I need a drink!!
Not a nice long ladylike sophisticated G&T
I want a Whisky ,or double or Triple even.
And I can't .My (other)Beloved and his mate finished the last on Sunday evening.
WELL ...well now ... calmly I am going to find my Roofie-baby and see if I can sort out my atavar .
You never know I might be able to do but it is more likely that I will be back screaming

Oh! Frannie, I was wondering what happened with your avatar! I would like to help you but I'm not very good at this kind of things. Have you tried with another picture? Maybe the problem is with the URL of the picture you try to put...
And yes, Vista is horrible... I changed a few months ago and at first I couldn't manage to do anything... pop-up windows all the time, saying that "windows is closing this programme for safety" when I just wanted to check my mail! By now, I know it a bit better, it's a matter of getting used to it (don't worry, everyone has wished more than once smashing the PC on Bill Gate's head).
