Woo-hoo! It's snowing here! I'm not looking forward to the drive home from work but I love how everything looks in the snow. I'm going to try to get some pics in the morning and post them.

I take back my "woo-hoo" for the snow! The trip home just plain SUCKED!!! I decided to take the main highway, I81, since I figured VDOT-Va Dept. of Transportation--would have it pretty well maintained. Silly me! I should've known I was in trouble when I saw big rigs pulled over to the side of the road! The majority of the highway hadn't been touched and there was about 4 to 5 inches of snow built up. It was pretty much white-out conditions because the snow was falling so heavily and the wind was blowing so hard. I get about 5 miles from my exit and the traffic comes to a complete standstill because of an accident. An hour and 15 minutes later, the traffic starts moving again but the safest speed I could do was no more than 40mph and I still ended up slipping and sliding a few times. My normal commute home takes about 25 minutes. I left the parking lot at work around 1:40am and got home at 3:55am. At least I got home in one piece and since the snow is supposed to end by 11am, the roads will hopefully be cleared by the time I leave for work around 4pm.

I have a horrible cold. I can barely sneeze for the hacking cough and my head can't hurt for my ears aching. My nose is stuffy and my throat is sore. All three of my children have it as well and it's caused me to miss work today. I HATE being sick because I feel like I'm falling behind on my work. (be it work work or housework) I am extremely grateful for this forum. I log on several times a day just to see what you all are up to and nearly suffocate while trying to laugh and cough at the same time.
Ah well, perhaps I can catch up on my reading or get some writing done on something I've been working on for years. The best thing about it is I have something to complain about so I can call my mother and bother her about MY health for awhile. Yeah.....think I will do that... (insert devil smiley cause we don't have one here)

It's so hard to take care of yourself when you have sick kids that need you! I hope you can get some rest and feel better soon.

Get well soon, Rainy! ~sends virtual chicken soup~
RANT: Da**! I just did my laundry and the stupid washing machine doesn't rinse properly. I just had to manually wipe off pale white streaks from my fave black top. What a nuisance! Most of my clothes are black so this is a frequent problem.
RAVE: Ok... seems I have missed something these past few days of Rufus movie watching. Truce eh? Hmmmmm.... ~devilishly sneaks in, seduces Rufus and sneaks out with him~ bwahahaha

Ru, realizing what just happened creates a diversion and heads for the hills post haste.

Normally, I couldn't care less about college basketball but the men's basketball team from my alma mater, Radford University, has made it into the NCAA play-offs for only the second time in school history so I just have to say--GO HIGHLANDERS!"
I'm also happy about this because Virginia Tech tends to get all the attention around here, especially when it comes to sports, and little ol' Radford University is often ignored so it's nice that the school is in the spotlight.
