What is it with these weird one word titles? I don't know, Electro just sounds like a toaster or microwave brand.

OMFG! You girls are cracking me up! toaster oven LOL Personally, I am really looking forward to this one. I am absolutely fascinated by lightning. Big lightning fan here! I hate the lightning out here in Vancouver BC though. Boring sheet lightning. Give me.. give me... give me bolts.... ... ~does little virtual lightning dance~

well... taht episode will not be tough to review. lame. as the title. not enough felix. not enough rachel. baddie had a neon light over his forehead, reading "baddie". as the series goes on, dr. jacob hood is slowly turning into a rufus sewell look-alike. delicious. which is about all that was fun about "electro".

Plus, totally gratuitous 5 minute pole/lap dancing scene, taking away time that could have been used for, perhaps, plot-related details, character development, scientific information, or pretty much anything else. Lame is exactly the right word, Tip.

This episode definitely was not up to par with the four that preceded it. It's like the writing regressed back to the early episodes of the show. The humor that was so evident before was practically non-existent, gaping plot holes, a vague attempt at some sort of scientific explanation that just seemed convoluted and unbelievable, and very little character development. Poor Felix was reduced to being little more than a gopher which is especially disappointing considering how well his character was developed in last week's episode. The dialouge between Hood and Rachel didn't have the sense of comraderie that has developed in the last few weeks. To me, it's like this episode was originally written during the first part of the season, put aside, pulled out again, re-written to include a few scenes with Felix, then shoved into the mix towards the end of the season. The previews for next week's episode look pretty good so hopefully, they'll get back to the improvements that were made from "H2O" through "Minimata".
And a note to the CBS bigwigs: Not all of your shows have to have a woman in lingerie or a bikini! "CSI:NY", "Criminal Minds", and now "Eleventh Hour" have had scenes this week with women in one of these outfits. At least with "Criminal Minds" it fit since the episode was about a high-price call girl who kills her clients. The strip club scene in the episode tonight was completely unnecessary; they could've just shown the guy stumbling out to his truck and getting electrocuted. We didn't need to have half-naked women gyrating around to move the plot along.
On the upside, Rufus was very handsome and it seems the hair and make-up people have finally realized that the more "natural" look for his hairstyle is much more attractive than the slicked back one he started out with. I also liked the casualness of the wardrobe, especially in the scene where he's trying to convince the doctor what's happening to the surviving lightening strike victims. He looked great in that pullover, very relaxed and approachable.

The more I think of that scene the more it ticks me off (and ones like it on almost every other "drama" in the last several years--I know Without a Trace has had ones like it too, and again not for any organic reason--just random strip club scenes). It's such hypocritical b.s. I'm sure the powers that be would tell you how proud they are because they have written a strong woman character in Rachel, and she's a role model for young women, etc. Then they have to show a long, long scene of a stripper's act FOR NO REASON! It had absolutely nothing to do with anything else. It's like they're telling young women, "You too, can be a strong, independent, brainy FBI agent. Or, don't forget--If you really want to be valued and admired, have the men lust after you, and earn lots of money, you could be a stripper, and that would be just fine with us. Your choice though. No pressure." Idiots. I'll admit that's a very hypocritical complaint from someone who spends so much time objectifying and drooling over Rufus's sex scenes. However, at least those scenes are in the context of normal human relationships. He's not being showcased as a piece of meat removing his clothes. He's not dancing around mostly naked for no reason other than our viewing pleasure. He's not.... Uh, I lost my train of thought. What was I saying?

Don't ask me - I got distracted myself at "He's not dancing around mostly naked"......without the "not"

no, i totally get what you mean. a sex scene in a movie, even gratuitous, AT THE VERY LEAST involves the characters and actors already in the movie.
in this episode of EH, not only had the strip club virtually nothing to do with the storyline, the characters involved had nothing to do with it either - except for the guy ending up dead, which did not require the whole pole dancing thing for us to get it. friction. ok, we got it.
would have been so funny if at least we had seen clueless dr. hood and his sidekicks enter the strip club to inquire about the guy. now, THAT would have been funny.
but even more clueless than hood are the EH writers.
maybe the producers or someone involved with the show had a girlfriend to promote. i bet if we found out who the lap dancer was, and who she knows, we would understand.
anyway, for me, its not as much that the nature of the scene was cheap and insulting to thinking women ( which rufus sewell is said to be a heartthrob for ), which it was. most of all, that scene did not belong there, period.
only in porn movies do unidentified people just appear, have sex, and disappear.
has jerry bruckheimer fallen so low that he has to resort to such tactics to get his shows publicity? how about hiring competent writers? it worked for most of his other ventures!!

I agree with everyone here about the random stripper scene. Granted when I first saw it I was a tad envious of these women that could bend and work a pole like I never would be able to, I mean I would never be a stripper, but to be able to bend like that, would be nice.
But then she takes him in back asks for another $20 and then laughs when they shock each other..."baby your electric" gag me with a maggot. I didn't really get pissed about the whole scene until the end when it became apparant that the scene really had no bearing on the plot at all. The only thing that scene accomplished was making me clap when the dude got fried. I was clapping and thinking "thats what ya get for being a pig and trying to drive drunk" Almost had that lady from "The Mist" in my head screaming "Expiation!!!"
Lordy.
The rest of it was alright though. I thought the villain was the lady working on the battery...until I saw the crazy idiot whip out his BFG and shoot/take picture/radiate...whatever her stuff in her office. Should have known it was him the whole time. Last time I saw him, he played a psycho killer on CSI.
Yeah they keep this crap up, I fear for the shows future.
