Judy the extended script does say that they Ellen and Tom learn to return each other's affection so I am guessing there are some wonderful love scenes there. I am only a little disappointed because they seem to give the buiding of the cathedral short shrift which seems a bit a shame. That was so much a part of Tom and Jack's life. But I do think that Tom Builder appears to get a good bit of play which is great. And I do like the screen play. I am really excited. At last Rufus Sewell villainless. How wonderful!!!!!

I'm hoping this gets a shot at the U.S. market, it sounds like an interesting story, great cast too!

Great to see they've updated the POTE site at last, but a bit disappointing to find out that Rufus won't be delivering the baby or having the "original" sex in the forest scene - looks like Tom & Ellen's affection for each other grows a bit more slowly than in the book. I guess that does allow for the old UST to develop rather than just jumping straight in (or on as Ellen does in the book!!!!)
Mmmmmm, i wonder how they "found" us though? You don't think that Rufus would have dobbed us in for our stimulating intellectual conversation do you? Perhaps he thinks we'll start behaving!!!
BTW, it appears that Eddie Redmayne is playing Jack. I can't tell how much of a redhead he really is from the photos i saw, but he certainly has an appropriate name!!!!

I am glad some one else said we should behave but if Rufus Sewell believes this group will behave he is really naive.
And just in case some one is reading this we expect "love scenes" with Rufus in them. People 40 and over have them frequently....

I'd like to add my vote for MORE love scenes! (But then you already knew I would - didn't ya?)
I'm sooooo looking forward to this film.

As I was reading TPOTE last month I was wondering how the screenwriter would adapt such a massive story into a mini/maxi-series. He did an excellent job, in my opinion, if the extended storyline on the website is any indication. It will be disappointing if Tom Builder doesn't deliver the baby, and especially disappointing if Ellen doesn't get to jump Tom's bones in the forest for their first ... shall we say "chat?" I'm hoping for a lot of nice, clear, screencappable (is that a word?) love scenes for the pair. Oh well. I'm just thrilled that Rufus has been cast as such a great character ... a good, simple-yet-complex, man.

Everyone, please make it clear at the top of your post if you are putting [glow=red,2,300]SPOILERS!!![/glow] We're in the period when a lot of new info will start emerging about progress with filming and the like, and many people won't have read the book yet (me included) so please do be careful when revealing details of the plot. Thank you!! GE2 (yes, I know, nagging again )

Thanks for the spoiler reminder, GE2 - I've been afraid to read the posts here lest something is given away. Perhaps we can start a separate thread for Pillars where spoilers are allowed and I'll steer clear of it? I hate to just skim these messages in fear. BTW, heard from Rufus & he's having a blast and will be dressed much to everyone's liking, I do believe. Arm bands, leather apron, tunic. Not everyone has arrived for filming yet, but he's loving it so far. Rai

RAI, Thank you so much for again sharing your "heard from Rufus". It is great to hear that he is enjoying this experience. I am sure that all of us will be ecstatic with the result of his "having a blast" when we are finally able to view the "Pillars" mini series. I smiled to myself and became very amused in the way that you started to relate that you "heard from Rufus". You wrote BTW. BTW ? That was a major announcement !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps, "Hear ye, hear ye," or "Take note all you Rufus-Loving Fans, would be a more befitting way to get our attention? ? Well, no matter how you do share with us, again, thanks so much. I think it makes Rufus all the more a real person to all of us. Hugs, Diane

Seriously though, I would never take hearing from Rufus for granted. He's a good pal & a worse correspondent, but he'd be the first to admit that. Glad I can share tidbits with you guys. Rai

TO THE ATTENTION OF NEW READERS OF THIS THREAD, WHO LINKED FROM THE TPOTE WEBSITE AND MIGHT (OR MIGHT NOT) BE MR. SEWELL
someone stole my identity and wrote awfully lewd things. silly comments, really.
no, i do not drool in real life. i admire mr. sewell only for his acting talent, not for his bu... his physique. and i think that "eleventh hour" was a fine show indeed, and i do not believe that ross from "sachem's farm" is a weak whiner.
and i would never dare to compare the excellent mr. sewell to a radish, even to praise him. hell, i dont even like radishes.
also, i am not the author of any terribly bad "big sword" jokes, and i do believe that the individual who goes by the name of rueful might be trying to tarnish my good name by writing such horrors while pretending to be me.
oh! and i do not rank movies with such silly scores as "rufus cuteness" or "rufus nakedness" - nor have i written a whole essay about sex scenes with mr. sewell. such things are below me. i respect mr. sewell far too much to do such things. it woud not be respectful of his bu... talent.
tipou aka tip aka #1 rufus sewell fan

Thanks very much, rai, for sharing the info with us! I know it's early days, but I hope the fact that he's having fun means that he will be happy with the finished product. I can't begin to imagine how you broached this subject with him! Really nice try, tipou. However, it's far, far too late for that. If you had been clever enough to prove the existence of an evil twin long ago, you could make these claims. As it is, your reputation as a shallow, radish-loving, sword-measuring Ross-hater is firmly established. I don't know whether to retort that "[your] good name" is an oxymoron or just shake my head at your folly. However, I'll admit that when I popped in this morning and saw there were 24 guests on the site, I freaked out a bit and resolved to behave.

I hate to just skim these messages in fear. Great idea, Rai! I'll start one in the "Work of..." section. (ADDED: rufussewell.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=work&action=display&thread=1069) That will be for discussion of the plot, so please continue to put news on it in this thread. Thanks for the update on Rufus, good to know he's enjoying it there. He's a good pal & a worse correspondent LOL! "And I bet every e-mail starts "Sorry, I couldn't get back to you sooner....." However, I'll admit that when I popped in this morning and saw there were 24 guests on the site, I freaked out a bit Me, too! Traffic has definitely gone up since the link was put on there.
