Cat, he has mentioned and is on the record as saying that he felt comfortable in ladies clothes including the fishnets, when he did TOTS.
It's getting warm in here just thinking about that. Perhaps an open window would help.

Exactly, peach. After EH, I bet he'd be up for a little dominatrix action onscreen.

Exactly, peach. After EH, I bet he'd be up for a little dominatrix action onscreen. oh my god i joined a bunch of pervs! (but please someone pm me at once if ever this happens, lol...) but you know, just for the sake of it, i would like to see him in a good police part - I KNOW, IT'S SOOO CLICHE - but then again, picture if you may... rufus sewell as john book in witness... not only would he be a hoot in the funny scenes, but imagine the love scene with the amish woman... OMG. i have this thing about brits, and then i have this thing about police movies... dont you think rufus looks a little like pacino in serpico? i mean... the big eyes, the adorable cheekbones... you know, back when pacino acted, instead of just screaming? and, yes, another baddie who is not such a baddie role would be pacino's in dog day afternoon... oh yeah. that would be a good one. but i definitely would want to see him as a cop. just once. just to make me smile.

warmer still, window not working........perhaps cold shower.... yes police drama sounds good, but I really would love to see him do comedy, or maybe a really well made drama with some dark elements to it. I agree I am a sucker for the English 'specially the accent (swoon), a while back there was a movie that Jeff Bridges did with Jane Fonda, I think it was called the Morning After, you can check she played a has been actress down on her luck, anyway Bridges was super and he was a cop, that would satisfy you tipou, he'd be good in something like that, he's a flawed character and well written or maybe something along the line of The Big Easy.

Body Heat is a definite possibility, he is a hottie, or maybe the Fugitive, he'd certainly show more emotion that Harrison Ford did. I have a novel idea, how about someone actually writing an original screenplay with Ruf as the star, something not formulaic, something very original and tailored for him and something that would showcase this man's most amazing talent........I'm sorry I must have either been dreaming or hallucinating, or perhaps a flashback, either way, that would take some talent. Something sorely lacking in hollywood. Maybe it's a good thing he's not a superstar, I don't suppose he'd agree with me on that, but I'm sure he likes the freedom he gets by being able to do smaller films. Still it would be nice for someone to take notice of how good he is. Sigh. We can always hope for another Broadway or West End performance to look forward to, and Mr. Stoppard is still writing isn't he? Surely he can come up with something, although he was amazing in R&R.

well... success certainly has limits. i clearly remember seeing gallipolli, and saying, this young guy with blue eyes, he is good, he will go places... look what happened to him... success indeed... but not always a good thing.

tipou, I couldn't agree more. I thought the very same thing when I saw that film, but his personality is is so different than Ruf's. Ruf seems so grounded and normal, and doesn't take the whole star thing seriously. Gibson has always been a bit strange hasn't he. He's I'm not quite sure how to put this but he seem a little unstable. He was so amazing in Mrs. Soffel too. It's sad watching him now.

He's sad but still very talented. I still don't see what people find so wrong with him. Okay so he is an a**ho** off-screen, but why should that matter? He can still act the S**t out of anything he's given. It's just like Madonna and Micheal Jackson...weird in real life but brilliant in their chosen careers.

Unfortunately, it's not what his fans think, it's the elitist h'wood bunch that pretty much blackballed him. First with Passion of the Christ, then the drunk driving incident and the so called anti semitic remark it all adds up. I admire him because he believes in something and is not about to appologize for his views. The powers that be and who run the show, the suits if you will have the ability to end someone's career, they can greenlight a project or simply pass. He's used his own money for financing and still has his production company but then you need a distributor. It's almost like a blacklist all over again. SO much for the liberal thinking out in la la land. He is (was) so very talented, I just saw The Patriot again he was soooo good. All you need is to see the emotion in his eyes. His eyes now look sorta vacant and wild now, a little scary. I have to disagree on one point with you DGD, Madonna, and this is strictly my opinion is a legend in her own mind. She's one helluva marketer of herself, but am over her "talent" acting and otherwise. Michael Jackson is just plain sad, what a crazy childhood and family he was never given a chance at living a real life. Now he's passing that on to his children. What a legacy.
