1. a)He was drunk, he'd had a win on the horses b) Do you want a takeaway? You'd have to pay for it
2. I have had a few sherberts to settle the old nerves (I thought he said bells but the caps say nerves)
3.The best thing you can do my love, my dove, my sexy Kate is to put on a big smile and act like this was all deliberate and planned, knew all about it. We can chew the fat about it later darlin' alright? (or very similar)
4. You'll feed them all chicken, you'll throw them in a pond

Anybody know what she called Tim in the opening scene? That's the only problem I've had...

Can't remember - was it Fat-head?

Yes, according to imdb, it's "fathead" (there's a list of some quotes). I wondered about that too- I thought she said "f***head" at first, but then I figured since it was on tv, it probably wasn't that.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought she said "f***head" too, but the censors didn't catch it because she was so incoherent.
It's really a shame that Shirley Henderson wasn't interviewed for the extras (at least she wasn't on R1, anyway).

I can't seem to keep out of this TotS thread. I watched this for the thousandth time a few days ago, and noticed a little detail for the first time. (Took me long enough!) Petruchio is wearing the exact same clothes everytime they show him (well, before the wedding scene), even though it shows him on different days. Is there a particular reason for this? Is it just a coincidence(sp?)? No big deal, I'm just wondering.

I can think of a few reasons: a)Roof/Petrucchio looks particularly hunky in that big furry jacket b)consistent with Petrucchio's bohemian wanderer lifestyle and last c)film's wardrobe budget. I gotta say its my favorite Petrucchio outfit, ahead of his wedding ensemble, which I also like very much.I also love Kate's wedding gown and like you, never tire of looking at a few scenes.

Is it just a coincidence(sp?)? No big deal, I'm just wondering. Maybe it's because Petrucchio is broke and can't afford extra clothes. (Except the skirt and fishnet stockings, of course! )

to the original stage play and the fact that only the very wealthy had changes of clothing? running from Australia(read deported)forced him to leave his personal items behind? I've got a better one... where is he living on those days we don't see him?

Well, he got dressed and changed at Harry's - so maybe he was staying there. Or Harry has a very interesting wardrobe himself.

Considering he broke Harry's door in, I can't imagine he would even bother to try to keep him out. I think he was getting mascara on Harry's sofa pillows again. WAIT A MINUTE! That's what happened in real life!!
