Hi Frannie, it is a region 1 as I have a multi-region player. Sorry but I will let you know if I ever see anywhere that sell region 2.

Finally got round to putting my comments on GTS up. Loved it - just the job for cheering you up. Rufus does us proud as usual. You couldn't imagine any woman not falling for him so the Lucy Lastic (what a name - cracks me up) bit wasn't too far fetched ! You have to be in the mood for a bit of silliness - a real feet up glass of wine series I felt. I will definetely watch it again (not just episode 4 either) I didn't really get annoyed with any of the characters - but thought the scuba lady bit didn't quite gel for me. Perhaps there could have been a better way of bringing Monty home. I couldn't believe the hotel they used for Winson to stay at - it's the hotel I stay in when visiting London - I was only there a couple of months ago too. Added I forgot to mention the fabulous eyebrow flutter. How endearing was that ? The scene in the garden with Hilda - the same eyebrow flutter as in Middlemarch when he was sitting talking about his past. Is it just me - but it really makes me smile when he does that ?

I am thinking of getting one but am reluctant to knowing how the US( sorry girls) cut UK series . Does anyone know if it has been cut.

I have ordered GTS yesterday via Amazon.co.uk from a seller in the US. So it will be REgion 1. I thought it was reasonably priced with £16.-- plus 3.-- something postage.
Of course I hope it will not be a cut version.

I have now watched all 6 episodes of GTS - I didn't really watch it when I made the screencaps, then I was just looking for the Rufus bits. It won't be on top on my list of Rufus' films but the scenes he had were wonderful and the change he made from a moneyhunting jerk to lovable Billy was funny and sweet. It took me a while to get into the series. Not really my kind of thing but the characters grew on me, especially Hilda and Monty. Winston was getting on my nerves quite a bit as well as Wesley. The creepy remains of Mother Plant would not have won a beauty contest in the end - yuck. ;D The episode I didn't like except for that one scene was episode 4. I found myself fast forwarding quite a bit there. All in all a funny, weird series with some of the most original characters I have seen on screen in a while ;D But definitely worth to watch again (maybe not everything) certainly all the Rufus bits over and over again. He is just cute and so young.

Had to change the region setting on my computer but it plays now! So far I've only had time to watch the first episode, but I love it - just my kind of weird humour (like Monty droning on and on about what Winston is up to, saying "Yeah, you're dead" and then realizing that the old lady is really dead). Or the bit with Hilda and Billy at the football stadium, he seeming totally out of place. From today's point of view, the clothing and especially Hilda's glasses are wonderfully horrible And Rufus is just sooo cute! I've often said I prefer the mature version, and I'll stick to that, but it's absolutely no wonder that he charmed Hilda into believing he really loved her ... those huge green eyes and innocent face

Am still awaiting my copy of GTS ordered a few weeks ago and coming from America! I am very intrigued by all the ladies' comments and especially having got the pics not shown on the Rooftop from Zenina. Really can't wait!

With everyone watching Gone to seed. Watched it all again. So so funny and the part where Hilda throws a pillow at a sleeping Billy and he wants Hilda to return to bed. He says " Come and give me a squeeze". It reminded me of TOTS, that moment that we all love, when he says the words "Come sit on me". I think I will ask my husband to say those words to me, I wonder what answer I will receive!!!

I have proceeded until Episode 4 by now and still like it quite well. You are right, ep 4 is a little slow sometimes, and like most of you I don't care for Winston at all, while I've grown to like Hilda and Monty a lot. The two of them are always so eager to do the right thing and it always ends somehow badly. And it's fun to see the new garden center develop. The house is lovely, too, especially the mother's round bedroom. I love the weird humour of the whole series, and although I missed Billy during the longer stretches of his absence, I still had lots of fun with all the funny little details (too many to actually remember everything now, but I had a lot of laughs). Billy's famous "backside" scene in ep 4 is breathtaking! I love Hilda's little fantasies about Billy. She has fallen for him very very badly despite their age difference (don't we all understand that too well?) And what a perfect example of male beauty he was already at that age Rufus is so cutely boyish still in his looks, but his acting is already very accomplished. Even at this early point in his career he totally and convincingly takes over his character. As was said earlier, he doesn't seem to be pretending that he's pretending to love Hilda but makes it look absolutely authentic, to her and to us viewers. My favourite quote from, I think, Ep 4: "A lovely bunch of Billys, erm, lilies" ;D
