The others deserve their nomination too, but how can you nominate TPOTE as best miniseries and then not nominate the person who was the heart and soul of it?

Somehow they didn't quite get the message, huh? Ian McShane did a very good job, but still ...

I am a fan of Pillars of the Earth on Facebook and I found a message about the nomination earlier. I was pleased they got some nominations, but very disappointed our man was left out.

Yes, Ian McShane was very good in "Pillars". He played an evil narcissistic man. That was the sum of his being. BUT, Rufus played Tom Builder, a man with much depth and soul. I so agree with you, rueful !!! Rufus displayed a multi-layered man. He was a father, a husband, a lover, a professional stonemason, and a leader. Rufus portrayed him with perfection and warmth, even vulnerability. He should have received the nomination. And I am not prejudiced just because I am a fanatical serious fan.

I liked David Oakes' Tweet about the nominations. He said he was disappointed to have missed out on Best Supporting Rapist.

I liked David Oakes' Tweet about the nominations. He said he was disappointed to have missed out on Best Supporting Rapist. Rofl! That's just awesome. XD I can't believe he didn't get nominated, either!! D:< But that seems to be the way it goes for Rufus, huh? Maybe people don't realize he's such a good actor because they forget he's acting and all they see is the character.

That is the best sign of a brilliant actor... and is exactly why he should have been nominated!!!

Some times I think these awards are more campaign than they are about the part. And although people may disagree what was so wonderful about Ian MacShane again. How many times can he get nominated for the same thing?
Any way I am sorry they did not nominate Rufus or at least Matthew MacFayden.

Any awards that could have, but fail to, nominate Rufus just aren't worth bothering about, in my opinion!

I am not happy about this. Tired of Rufus being ignored when he is ALSO so deserving of a nomination. Thought several of the TPOTE actors deserved a .
